A replica is a copying closely resembling the original concerning its shape and appearance. An inverted replica complements the original by filling its gaps. It can be a copy used for historical purposes, such as being placed in a museum. Sometimes the original never existed.
The name “Replica” for this fashion agency based in Madrid came as a parody and nickname into the fashion industry. Illustrating the company’s attitude to “make it better” even than the original in the fashion environment, where each proposal need to have individual qualities making it feel like a one-of-a-kind find.
For this project Manuel designed a brand identity that captures its unique mix of high and “low” standards, from the refined fashion proposals to the most casual but innovative ones from the streets. The identity design encompasses the brand’s messaging and art direction with its photography use of relevant character’s wax reproductions in each communication element.
