PANDORA / Final Event, Film & Production
With this documentary we delve into the fashion industry answering questions from how to get into it, to what jobs you can actually do once you're in there. Dispelling the long-held myths of superficiality and pompousness, and with unprecedented access to the creation process of a collection for a whole year, this film speaks from the perspective of ten students from ten different fashion schools in the work process over their proposal for the MFSHOW Pandora Young Fashion Prize.
This work explores the creation of a collection - from the drawing board to the catwalk through those stressful months with a privileged behind-the-scenes look inside the personal view of each young designer, with particular attention paid to the dedicated seamstresses who served their vision.
For anyone who has ever dreamed of working in the fashion industry, or even just those who are avid followers, it gives an insight into the inner workings of the fashion process. These modest but intimate view take a real-life look at their inner motivations and the power they wield in an industry needed of fresh blood, while seeing what it really takes to produce a collection.
You can see them at home practising ballet, out on party and on the front row. The process is an effortlessly intriguing document of their first fashion venture since leaving the school.
